Well, as relieved as I am to know that I'm not losing my mind, I'm just as upset to know that I heard right during the telecast sunday night! That press release upsets me greatly. I really thought (and still think) that Zack had the potential to be one of the world's great bullriders. What a shame he's retired. I think we didn't see the best of what he has - I think he was just gettin' started. Sure hope after some time off, he reconsiders. What fun he was to watch sticking it on those bulls! We'll certainly miss him!

Unless you are family or him you never know what one is thinking. He is going to take a break and come back as a team roper.I dont know him but i have a feeling that would would be the only thing he would have enough confidence to do again. If you really knew him you would understand that once you have lost it mentally it does not matter how much physical ability you have you are done. he would say it also. Just like everybodys new hero LJ Jenkins said "If I think about it or get scared i would tense up and even before the chute opens i have lost." I believe that says it all.
See Ya Zach

Lane Frost's funeral program still lies on our guest suite dresser. Kinda tells the whole story, and I cannot fault a cowboy for throwing in the towel. Zack will do just fine, but hope he doesn't leave the rodeo arena entirely. cowboy4443

Zack is such a great bullrider..I hope he comes back to bullriding some day...
This is unofficial, but..another bullrider that won't be coming back to bullriding is Bart Jackson..Bart will be rodeoing by doing some roping..Bart is a great roper and Im sure you will see his name at the top soon.

Sounds like to me that he did the right thing this sport is too dangerous to be doing it half hearted. You need to crave it or else your probably going to get hurt. He may be back may not be that's up to him to decide it does not make you any less of a man to decide when enough is enough. I have personally been through a very similair injury as Zack had with me having my lung collapsed, 5 broke ribs, and a lacerated liver which caused me to internally bleed 3/4 of the blood in my body into my stomach, and I can tell you from first hand experience it really tolls on your mind. That's my two cents for now.

THAT SUCKS. WELL I CANT SAY I BLAME IF HES SKIDDISH, BUT I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY HE WOULD JUST JUMP INTO RETIREMENT! TAKE A BREAK! GIVE A WARNING! BUT GEESH DONT GIVE UP! I DONT MEAN TO BE RUDE OR ANYTHING...I JUST AM SHOCKED THAT HE WOULD THROW AWAY SO MUCH TALENT. I AGREE WITH YA...FEW YEARS...HE'LL BE BACK. BESIDES IF YA ASK ME...IMO...ITS MORE OF A CHALLENGE TO TRY AND MAKE A COMEBACK. "THE GREATER THE OBSTACLE, THE MORE JOY IN OVERCOMING IT." I SURE HOPE HE DOES. IF NOT I SURE WILL MISS WATCHIN HIM RIDE. :-[BUMMER.
