Well, I've been playing with a little blog for the last week or two, mostly just passing time writing. ( I love sharing my opinions as most of you know) Anyway, this article is titled "Riding Under The Radar", and it's pretty self-explanatory. There are riders that are riding great and have a shot at the world title, but they aren't getting any respect. 8secondsatatime.blogspot.comFeel free to read the article and agree or disagree. My list of riders riding under the radar included Wiley Peterson, Cody Whitney, Sean Willingham, and Bryan Richardson. Which riders do you think may ride under the radar in 2006?

You should make it a weekly thing....your picks for the different events and that sort of thing...I think that would be cool. Just a thought anyway. Jamie

I definitely plan on writing a couple things every week. I'll probably try to do my top match-ups and an opinion article. Thanks for reading.

Well I agree with all but one of the riders. I don't think that Bryan Richardson has ever flown under the radar in any association he has ever ridden in.
He has been to two events this year in the PBR and I think that the world has taken notice. Talk to anyone that follows PRCA at all and his name will come up much sooner then later. The only people that seem to not be giving him the respect that he deserves are the arena announcers that are too afraid to say the letters PRCA to give him the accolades he deserves. They better get use to it though because I believe he on the BFTS to stay!
Bryan is a great rider, a confident rider, good natured and someone that you can not help but notice when he is in the arena (even before the green chaps) or even in the room. He may not be a name that you are use to seeing if you only follow the BFTS for the past year but I would never pick him as a rider that rides under the radar.
I would have actually put Matt Bohon on that list instead. He has made some great rides and I think this weekend proved that he can ride when the pressure is on but is one that people tend to sometimes forget about.

haha it's funny because most of those riders are some of my favorites. However, I think it is the eye of the beholder. Until last year Cody Whitney didn't put the rides that he has put together lately. Wiley Peterson hasn't always been under the radar... 2003 was a good year for him and there was talk about him winning the title then but he had to have surgery on his knee and hasn't been of the same noroity since then. However, Wiley can ride the rank ones just like any other guy on tour.
Sean Willingham has yet to break out but he will, I have faith in him! He could be the spoiler for this year but I bet by the end of the year he won't be under the radar.
Cory Rasch and B-Rich are in similar situations. Everytime something good is going for them they get injured. Minneapolis was the first even B-Rich did in the PBR where he didn't walk away with a injury. Like Terri said, B-Rich is not flying under the radar. He had more fans than anybody cheering for him is Minneapolis. People know him and are watching him.
I also agree with Terri on Matt Bohon. I have always liked him and well last year he had the most 90-pt rides for a long time and finished the season tied among the likes of McBride and Shivers. Matt is going to do great things and like I told people in Minneapolis... Matt will be a world champion.
I also think Ross Johnson will be one to watch this year. He has really shown some promise early in the season. I think he is done being known for the greatest wrecks!

I was going to put Matt Bohon on the list right after Wiley Peterson until he won the event in Minneapolis. I had it planned to put him on there though up to that point.
I still almost put him but decided against it.
Edit: As for Bryan Richardson, he will definitely be flying under the radar his first full year in the PBR. The PRCA fans know who he is for sure, but the "PBR-only" fans (and there a lot of them) won't have a clue who he is. He definitely won't be mentioned with the names McBride, Shivers, Moraes, Lee, etc. And that's why he is on my list.
I know he is great and can contend for a world title. But only die-hard bull riding fans know who he is. The regular fan like my parents won't have a clue who he is until the season is in full stride. That was my point.
Any fans on the internet will probably know who he is, but there are millions of fans that never touch the internet.
