Get ready the 2nd cut is after Phoenix.
Here's the standings: I think Dan, Richardson and Mendes should have injury exemptions. 35. Dan Henricks 36. Kody Lostroh 37. Renato Nunes 38. Jason Bennett 39. Tater Porter 40. Tony Mendes 41. Cory McFadden 42. Bryan Richardson 43. Dustin Hall 44. Rob Bell 45. Trey Traweek 46. Bo Selman 47. Mike Collins 48. Rocky McDonald 49. B.J. Schumacher 50. Nick Landreneau 51. Jay Pahlke 52. Steven Shelley 53. Cody Hart
We will have to look for the press release tomorrow!! Gosh, cuts suck sometimes.
Oh and Luke Snyder has moved to 34th so he should no longer be cut and Austin Meier has earned enough points so make the 27th position and is now seeded. Corey Navarre has made an amazing come back and is now in 17th so he is no longer cut either!! Yeah for these 3!

nope 35-39 are cut. 40-45 are not seeded and therefore are "alternates." They keep those 5 positions open for guys that have injury exemptions and come back. Last night they were saying that Tater had to ride his short-go bull to avoid the cut.. and he didn't It'll be interesting to see exactly who they cut because sometimes it doesn't always happen the way it should.

It'll be interesting to see exactly who they cut because sometimes it doesn't always happen the way it should. What does that mean? Are things rigged?

Dustin Hall should also remain on tour because of his Challenger Tour standings. The results from this weekend have not been added in yet but he has enough earnings that even if one of the riders won multiple events this weekend he should remain in the top 5.
Steven Shelly should also remain on tour based on his current earnings on the CT tour.
Jason Bennett also has a decent shot at being re-promoted to the tour. He was sitting in fifth place on the CT tour going into this week and with Austin now being seeded and Rob Bell being the next closest in earnings out with injury he may be high enough in the standings to remain.

Things sure are weird. The first cut was 40th through 45th. Last year it was 36th through 41st. The PBR seems to be suffering from John Kerry syndrome, cant figure out what they want.

Just announced on the PBR website....
PBR Announces Second Cut of the 2006 Built Ford Tough Series Season
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (February 13, 2006) - Professional Bull Riders' (PBR) administration today announced the second official 'cut' of the 2006 season. The purpose of the cut is to determine which 45 bull riders will be competing on the elite Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler (BFTS). Upon the conclusion of every fifth BFTS tour stop the lowest ranked riders in the BFTS point standings are subject to the cut. They are dropped from the tour and replaced by the top five riders in the U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company Challenger Tour standings. Money earned in all the PBR tours - Built Ford Tough Series, U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company Challenger Tour, Enterprise Rent-A-Car Tour and the Discovery Tour - counts toward earning a spot among the 45 best bull riding athletes in the PBR.
The top five athletes who will advance to the BFTS by virtue of their achievements at the Challenger Tour level are: 1. Dustin Hall (Springfield, Mo.) $24,446; 2. Bowdy Peach (Mooreland, Okla.) $19,532; 3. Steven Shelley (Natural Dam, Ark.) $15,930; 4. Jason Bennett (Honeygrove, Texas) $14,343; 5. Allan Moraes (Watauga, Texas) $12,763.
The riders who were dropped from the tour following the Anaheim Classic and Phoenix Invitational this past weekend are Kody Lostroh (Longmont, Colo.), Tater Porter (Kenansville, Fla.) and Cory McFadden (Coleman, Texas).
The following previously cut riders have achieved seeded tour status: Corey Navarre (Sulphur, La.), Brian Herman (Victoria, Texas), Luke Snyder (Raymore, Mo.), Austin Meier (Checotah, Okla.), and Sevi Torturo (Oklahoma City, Okla.).
Under injury exemption status, the following riders, all of whom have been out of competition due to injury, will be subject to the cut after they have competed in a total of six tour stops: Rogerio Ferreira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) with six events remaining, Paulo Crimber (Olimpia, Sao Paulo, Brazil) with three events remaining, Brian Courson (Winter Haven, Fla.) with one event remaining, Jake McIntyre (Zolfo Springs, Fla.) with two events remaining, Renato Nunes Da Rosa (Sao Paulo, Brazil) with three events remaining, Tony Mendes (Jensen, Utah) three events remaining, Bryan Richardson (Dallas, Texas) three events remaining, and Fabricio Alves (Keller, Texas) with three events remaining. All 2006 PBR Finals qualifiers receive 6 BFTS events before they are subject to the cut.
The roster for the 2006 Built Ford Tough World Finals is determined according to total money won on all levels of PBR competition. All tour alternates at the beginning of the season qualify to replace injured riders based upon their combined earnings from the 2005 Challenger Tour season and the 2006 Challenger Tour season. Following stop number 11 in Phoenix, which took place on February 12, 2006, only the 2006 Challenger Tour earnings will be used to determine alternate eligibility.

This is too bad for the 3 who are gone - especially Tater Porter. I hope he comes back soon, but I'm sure that, much like Brendon Clark, he is devastated about this. Then again, who wants to be cut? I'm just thinking that this is especially hard for Tater to swallow.
On the other end, great to see Brian Herman, Corey Navarre and Luke Snyder get back on the tour! Especially Luke, he needed it bad....this means his streak of 150-something events is still. In. Tact. I just realized, if he can ride the entire year this year and next year (Finals included, he's gotta qualify) without being cut, he can eclipse J.W. Hart's old record of 192 or so (I counted it from his 180th event which was the '02 Finals).
