Ross was injured at a Challenger Event in Florida on June 09 - two torn groin muscles and a torn stomach muscle. First it was thought Ross would be out 3 - 4 weeks, unfortunately, on Friday, Ross was told his injuries are worse than what were first thought - hernia, torn flexor muscle, and the adductor muscle is torn loose from the bone. Ross will be having surgery either this week or next, date has not been set. At this point Dr. Tandy has not told Ross how long he will be out - I will post a update as to when the surgery is going to be and how it goes...Beckie

wow, that is too bad... I was wondering why he was in Dallas but didn't ride. It was nice to see him at the Greg Crabtree memorial! I really hope his surgery goes well and that he is back riding bulls soon!!

Ross was cut off the tour after Tacoma, if I am not mistaken. He was low on points.
My God, I really hate to hear this kind of news! Poor Ross, I really hope he recovers from this sooner than later, as serious as this sounded. Thanks for the post. He'll be in this community's prayers for sure.

I just got a email and the Good News is that it looks better than first thought... They have decided not to do surgery on the torn groin muscle, that would be a 12 week recovery time and in his line of work no guarantee it would hold. They said he will need to learn to use his leg muscles in a different way. They will do surgery Monday at 1:30 for the hernia, the surgery should last about an hour, he will go home the same day - recovery about 2 week, but told him to let the groin heal an additional two weeks - he is looking at being able to go back the 1st of August.
I will update as I hear more...Thanks go to Ross' step-mother, Sonya, for keeping me updated.

Sorry I haven't give you a update on Ross sooner.
He called last night, has been released to start working out today and hopes to be back by mid-August at the latest.
He is going to shoot a dummy commercial for Roaddawg that he hope's to sell to Jack Daniels.
So, he is doing well.. Working out and doing some fishing with his dad..
