From PBR Fantasee in Rider News-10/11/2006 J.W. Hart will not be competing in this weekend's Columbus event due to the herniated disc in his lower back. Hopefully we'll see a healthier J.W. in Las Vegas for the World Finals.

Oh, that is too bad. I hope he is feeling better at the finals in Vegas. I'm going to miss seeing him at the last event.

Honestly, it wouldn't hurt him any (physically that is) to take the rest of this year off and pick it back up in 2007. I respect him a lot because he goes so hard even when he is hurt, but he really isn't doing himself any good when it comes down to it.
I know a lot will disagree, but it may be the best thing for him. However, we know he will be back for The Finals because that's how tough he is.

Well the finals are the goal and the prize. Plus it is where a lot of guys pick up the bigger bucks to help make it possible to be a bull rider for a living. I don't think if he can get on a bull and there is no danger of further damage he shouldn't compete at finals. Taking a break after the finals if he wants to sit out to heal makes a lot more business sense then sitting the finals out.
Best of luck to J.W. hope he heals quickly
