Lee Akin

I have been wondering how Lee Akin is doing? Today I had the opportunity to see for myself! I work in Weatherford, OK and a nice man opened the door for me, later I saw that is was Corey Navarre. There was another man with him, whom I realized later was Lee Akin. We were all going into the local Subway. Due to the lack of employees there I had some time to be in line with the two riders next to me.

Both were very friendly and Lee looks like he continues to improve. He was friendly and we spoke a little bit. He is so lucky, but we all need to continue to keep him in our prayers. Amazing the progress it looks like he has made just since I saw the interview of him during the finals. I have worked in W'ford for 13 years, I have been a PBR fan for the last 4 and I have NEVER seen Corey nor Lee in public anywhere.

You could tell they have a very close relationship. So glad to see Lee smiling and out and about with his friend.

I am just now watching Sunday's Worcester event. I just heard Leah say that Lee would be at the Billings event. She said he was improving too. How funny that I just saw that after I posted this. I knew he was much improved since the interview at the finals. Maybe we'll all get to see him on tv with Leah at Billings.

Julie, that's great to hear. Holly said she saw Lee and Corey a couple times when we lived in Weatherford, but I never saw them personally.

My heart still hurts when thinking of what happened to Lee Akin, but I'm glad to hear he is doing much better. After hearing about the 16-year old kid that died earlier this week, it's even more amazing to know we still have Lee around.

Thanks for posting the update on Lee. While he may be out of the news, there are many of us who think often of him and are hoping he makes progress with each passing day. Looking forward to Leah interviewing him in Billings.

I want to bring this up because I've been wondering if anybody knows how Lee's recovery has been?
