What was the producer/director thinking when he inturrupted LYJ's performance and cut away to another shot? I was upset!
PBR features LYJ in the Magazine, TV specials and talks LYJ up as being this animal with a heart and personality and ego. A performer.
Well LYJ bucks off his cowboy and starts to strut his stuff. Classic. He stops bucking and turns to pose for the crowd. Then he turns to the other fans and the clueless director of videography cuts away to show something unrelated. The MC's are running their mouths about something else too.
There is a big disconnect in what PBR markets and what the fans get by the time the hired crews, who must not be rodeo fans, set-up the cameras and shoot and mix the event.
Since the rider was off already, the show was all about LYJ. The announcers should have talked him up. The cameras should have all closed in on LYJ. I wanted to see this proud Bull with an Ego strut his stuff. I wanted to see him trot all the way back to his pen.
I don't care to see a bucked-off rider with no class stomp and spit and kick things and punch gates. Who cares. It is more about the bulls.
Wake up PBR-Get a cutting Edge Crew. Fire that director and get another with some passion-someone who "gets it"
