Howdy,
Since Dallas is a one day event, will there be three rounds? How do they run a one-day event?
Thanks, Rich

One day events do one round and the short-go. The maximum number of rides for any rider is two so they have to keep their fingers crossed that they have a good first round draw and make it count. Tulsa will be a three day event which will actually have three rounds and a short go.

I have my doubts about 15 guys making rides in the long go. The other one day events earlier in the year had very weak bulls compared to this one in Dallas.
The bulls in the draw are either rank ones who are occasionally in the short go, or they are young bulls who can buck like crazy.
I wouldn't be surprised to see less than 15 qualified rides in the long go. Hopefully there will be 15 though.
Do they go by who was closest to the 8 seconds if that's the case?

Usually it's a random draw of those that did not make a qualified ride so that means it could be anyone. I don't remember it happening too much at a BFTS event but they have to do it quite often at CT events.

Oh, that's right. That's exactly what they did at the Humps N Horns event we went to earlier this year. So you are probably right, I'm sure they do it like that on the BFTS as well.
At the Humps N Horns event Holly and I went to, there were only like 7 or 8 qualified rides, so a lot of guys got to come back from the drawing.

Cool & thanks for the info folks. Very interesting to think that these Bulls are so good that they won't get 15 rode. If that actually happens, then a having a random drawing to get a full roster for the short-go will add further exitment to this contest.
Personally , I'm pulling for Justin's 7th win and also for High Tide to clean some clocks! Rich

Well, I guess we all got to see how it works this past weekend when they didn't have enough qualified rides for the short-go! Jody Newberry got in the final 15 by way of a lottery, even though he didn't ride his first bull. Darn shame he didn't ride his second, either! He won't have too many more chances to get on Blueberry Wine! We were rootin' for ya, Jody.......
