I've not been a Haber fan from the beginning, but actually thought he had improved in his commentating. Although, when he was absent from the broadcasts I didn't miss him. It's unfortunate that he apparently hasn't lost his condescending attitude. I agree that Brian Herman's reaction shows a lot of class, but it seems like Mr. Haber's comment can't help but create tension in the organization. Maybe the guys can forgive and forget, but then again, maybe not. Mr. Haber was totally out of line.

Yeah but if they don't boot him there's a lot of season left....and quite frankly I think he'll screw up again. Personally I wouldn't want to come across Mike Lee in a dark alley that's for sure. I think that Brian let him off easy, he'll forgive but he probably won't forget.

Thank you Amanda. I wasnt at all suprized that he (haber) would say something like that.
I did email the PBR about Craig Hummer the last time he was on. Gave lots of praise for him and how much I disliked Tava. I actaully got a reply #eek2# saying thank you very much for your input and that they would forward it on to the apporpriate people. I still sugest that you email the PBR and let them know what you think. Even if they dont always listen.

I think Tina's right. If you think Haber was out of line regarding these recent comments, griping about it here will only make you feel better. Sending your thoughts to the PBR is what might make an impact.....I doubt it, but it never hurts to try.

If he is gone it shows where the politics come in. Again!!!!! Allan Moraes can put an 18 inch incision on the back of Coyote and hurt him physically knocking him out of action for a few weeks and he gets a fine. Brett says a deragotory comment about a rider and he gets fired. Seems pretty ridiculous to me. Riders can be replaced just as announcers but the riders have a little more leeway apparently and the Bull athletes of the PBR do not have a say either way. A suspended rider can be replaced by another rider, An ignorant announcer can be replaced by another ignorant announcer but a Bull has to live with the decisions that a Stupid Brazillian made to mame him and he stays on tour go figure. Just a bunch of BS.

OLN fires Haber, apologizes for his controversial remarks February 22nd, 2006 by Josh Peter OLN has fired Brett Haber as the play-by-play announcer for the network’s PBR telecasts four days after he made controversial remarks in the broadcast booth, two sources familiar with the situation said Wedensday.
Amy Phillips, director of public relations for the cable network, said she could neither confirm nor deny that Haber had been fired. But she issued a statement from OLN that read, “We apologize for what transpired at the PBR event Saturday in Portland and Brett Haber will no longer be a part of OLN’s PBR telecasts.’’
During a commercial break in the telecast Saturday, the audio feed was on as rider Brian Herman struggled to get settled atop a bull as it thrashed in the chute. Before Herman was granted a re-ride, and in a comment heard on the in-arena TV monitors, Haber said, “Nod your head you f—— hillbilly. You’re not going to ride anyway.’’
Later that night, with the audio feed off, Haber made yet another comment that angered at least one rider. When Willy Ropp went down in a wreck during his ride in the championship round, and it was clear the injuries suffered would result in a delay, Haber complained that he was going to miss his flight, according to two OLN sources.
Haber was set to leave on a redeye flight from Portland, Ore., to Washington D.C., where he works as a TV sports anchor.
The remark infuriated Brendon Clark, a rider who was in the booth at the time and providing color commentary during the telecast, according to the OLN sources. Clark did not immediately return a message left on his cell phone.
Herman said Haber apologized for the remark after the event and that he accepted the apology. But the apology was not enough to save Haber’s job, which reportedly paid more than $200,000 a year.
On Monday, Haber told OLN employees he intended to be in St. Louis this weekend for the three-day event. OLN officials began looking into security for Haber but at the same time began reviewing his contract to see if they could fire him without having to pay for the remainder of the contract, a source said.
Justin McKee and Michael Gaffney are set to be in the booth when OLN televises the event from St. Louis Saturday night – its first telecast from the weekend event — but an OLN official said it’s unclear whether a third man will join the team. During weekends when NBC has televised events, Kenny Rice has served as the play-by-play man for NBC and OLN.
Haber, who joined OLN as its play-by-play announcer for PBR telecasts at the end of the 2003 season, did not returned phone messages seeking comment. Attempts to reach Randy Bernard, the PBR’s CEO, also were unsuccessful.

No, problem, Cody. And I agree with you...Brian conducted himself in a very respectable way. He's never been a "hot headed" person and to see how someone acts under pressure or in the midst of a boil sure tells you a lot about the REAL person they are...not just what people say they are.
God bless, Amanda

if kenny becomes one of the main commentaors my tv will always be on mute.....
i think that it is good that haber is gone...i have never cared for him. i am surpised that brendon did not do anything while he was in the booth...just imagine brendon tackling haber in the booth, i would pay money to see that...anyway, lol....
i think that every week they should have a 'guest' commentator each week. have gman and justin there every week and then have like a contractor or rider in there each week, just to mix it up a bit...that is just my opion

Hey Randy, I suggest replacing Haber with Donnie Gay, replace Tava with Amanda Newberry. and replace yourself with Tuff. That would be the ultimate trio and you & OLN could just sit back and count the money. Cowboy4443
