I did notice Craig Hummer hanging out with the crew at the OLN truck during the Reno event. I wonder if he's going to wind up as the play-by-play guy or if he's usually around?

Well Hummer has done a really good job with the events he's done.....I think he did a really good job with the finals last year

Lets all hope he takes Tava's job. He does better behind the chutes.

If he takes Tava's job it would be a blessing. I think that Gaffney and McKee are handling the play-by-play really well by themselves....i dont think they need a third person up there. Plus they've been having riders up there too. I like Craig Hummer though so whatever he does he'll be a great addition to the OLN crew.

looked over at fried twinkies. Tava is gone for 2 weeks, and Craig might be coming to the booth.

I thought Craig did an awesome job tonight! Much better than I think I've seen him before, but then again he hasnt' done that in a while and I have gotten used to Tiva struggling for words and making sense.
At leas Hummer makes sense!
Good job Craig! That was a nice change! They said Leah might do guest appearances, wonder why they didnt' ask her?

Like I have said 100 times. Send Tava back to that daytime show, put Hummer on the sideline, and Donnie Gay in the box.

I don't read Fried Twinkies, so didn't know she was gone for 2 weeks, but I sure did like Hummer last night. He was very natural and it was nice to see him laughing and making real conversation. Even the "mess up" with Hang Up Willie was done well. Nice job.

There had been a rumor he was gonna come back for St Louis right after the olympics. I guess there were schedueling conflicts and this was his first free week. He is employed by NBC so i believe there are some contractural obligations he still has with them. I believe he will be back for good in a couple of weeks. He did an excelent job and you actually looked forward to his interviews. Welcome back Craig.

There is the article....
Hummer could join OLN booth after filling in as sideline reporter March 18th, 2006 by Josh Peter Craig Hummer, serving as the sideline reporter during OLN’s weekend telecast because Tava Smiley had a prior commitment, could eventually join Justin McKee and Michael Gaffney as the third man in the broadcast booth, Randy Bernard said Saturday night.
Since firing Brett Haber, OLN mostly has stuck with McKee and Gaffney while using J.W. Hart as the third man in the booth when he was available. But Bernard said OLN officials have discussed grooming Hummer to work in the booth.
Bernard, the PBR’s CEO, said prior commitments will keep Smiley from working this weekend and another weekend, but that he expects her to stay on as the regular sideline reporter.

Well once again I have emailed OLN and the PBR. I suggest everyone else do that also. Im not sure if it will help but at least they might take the hint.

I thought Craig did a great job last night. I hope he sticks around more. I thought it was great how after the interview with Willy Ropp, Justin Mcgee and G-Man had him go back to ask Willie about his "nickname" which Craig jumped right back in and asked Willie. He seems to get along good with Mcgee and G-man. My vote goes for Craig as sideline reporter or at least 3rd man in the broadcast booth (unless they continue to have "guest bull riders" stop by, like J.W. last week).

why is my ISP advertised above under someone's comment. Why would someone do that? Kinda out of place if you ask me and not very much appreciated.
