Yeah, I heard nothing about Reindeer being in the race this year. He hasn't been on the BFTS in the longest time. I heard nothing about retirement either, but I wouldn't be surprised because he's been doing this a long while. Would be nice to see him at the Finals though. As for his outs, he hasn't had a spectacular out IMO since Anaheim of '07. He's no longer the same bull that finished 5th for BOTY in 2005, even if he is still exciting to watch.
Back on topic, though, now I think the top 5 would involve Copperhead Slinger, All In, Troubadour and Spit Fire. The fifth is still open. Gnash didn't have a high score in Columbus, but I don't think it's low enough to take him out just yet.

I agree with them since so much emphasis is placed on the bull's performance at the end of the year rather than earlier in the season. Glad to see Bones on the short list. I think Troubadour will take it though.

I think so too, but then again, it could be like White Magic last year: stumbling at the Finals. They are doing like they did last year, and crowning the champion as the bull with the highest average bull score. But honestly, I don't see Troubadour slipping this time, as tough as his competition may be.

I think it's a great list and not a surprising one. There were a lot of good bulls this year, but these, in particular, stood out.
As someone who doesn't follow the bulls as much as the riders, how was Bones earlier in the season? Has he had many outs this year or did he come on strong later in the season? I'll definitely be watching for him next year because I was really impressed with him at the last event. I'd bet on Troubadour this year, though.

Bones had a 39.25 bull score in Kansas City under the name TBB 05/3, but he has been great ever since then. He has 7 BFTS outs this season, and his average is still 44.5 with the bad out included. He has been great lately, but I still think Ricky Bobby was better all season.
It's going to be exciting nonetheless.

I would like to clarify something about Bones. His 39.25 outing was actually at Kansas City in 2007. I completely made a mistake on that note. So in all reality, Bones' average score this year is well over 45 points. He is much more deserving than I gave him credit for.
Sorry for the mistake.

It's not even the same Bones. The one from KC last year is a grey bull that came from John McKee.
