I had my hubby call DISH NETWORK. This is what I have learned. (besides that to work after hours at DISH NETWORK of DIRECTV you do not have to be fluent in the English language)
My husband told then to send us our credit due. They can't confirm or deny that OLN will be put back on DISH NETWORK. They think they are hurting COMCAST when in reality they are going to be hurting themselves.
I spoke w/ the DIRECTV lady and she told me that I can have DIRECTV up and running w/in 2-5 business days, sometimes in just 1.
I compared prices and I think they are cheaper. DISH NETWORK charges me for local channels and my stuff is outdated. DIRECTV is going to give me new receivers.
We have decided that if OLN is not put back on DISH by Monday then we will cancel it and have DIRECTV installed this next week.
I will NOT miss the PBR WORLD FINALS!
The only way DISH NETWORK could make this up to me is to send me to the World Finals and I'm sure that isn't happening either.
I am sorry I am so angry I know all of us are, just know we are all in this together.
I did email ECHOSTAR.
feedback@echostar.com
I told them how crappy it is that they dont' give us an option to pay more or even a notification to let us know they are pulling it, just it's gone.
Please voice your opinion. I am going to drop them just like they dropped OLN, just as soon as I can get someone to install my DIRECTV. The lady I spoke with said they aren't dropping OLN on DIRECTV.
I need someone to take my blood pressure about right now!
Sorry guys, I know I am an elder on here but I have LOST IT!

Yeah, I can't believe it either. I don't know what we're going to do. I'm really mad at Dish for doing that. Right at the Finals. Good luck everyone. I hope everyone gets to watch it.

Well, Holly and I have Cebridge cable, which is the local thing here where we live. We are still good to go luckily. That is pretty sorry on DISH Network's part, and it will hurt the PBR in a bad way. This is the kind of stuff that ends up ruining an association, but hopefully everything will eventually be straightened out. I am glad we still have access to OLN, but I feel for the ones going through all this crap. Julie, you might have to room at our house during the Finals.

Cody I appreciate the offer but I assure you that I WILL have OLN by then. (I would eat too many munchies if you had me over, ha!)
I am very upset (as I'm sure you already know by now)
I WILL watch it here at home. I want to switch to DIRECtv by Tuesday. I will call on Monday.
You guys will get to watch your WORLD FINALS in your new house how exciting!
I am more calmed down today, only because I know there is a fix for this...... switching to DirecTV. ;D

Thanks for the TIVO tip I will keep that in mind. Their new special includes up to 4 receivers but I don't know if they have TIVO (don't know much about it) but I will ask.
I have also gone to DISH NETWORKS website as well as OLN's site, neither site says anything about the disagreement.
I will be calling Monday to get DIRECTV. I was fine w/ my DISH until now. The good news in this story is that this is "fixable".
I will be watching the finals from my home I just know it! I have watched weekend after weekend so I do want that channel.
I don't look for DISH to change it's mind, but I have changed mine, I am going DIRECTtv.

I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU: DENVER - The owner of The Dish Network said Thursday it pulled the Outdoor Life Network from its system after the cable channel failed to provide NHL games to the nation's second-largest satellite television provider.. OLN, owned by cable giant Comcast Corp., set a requirement that the channel must be seen by 40 percent of a cable or satellite TV system's viewers in order for it to broadcast the NHL games. It said the Dish Network has failed to meet that requirement. Lumpkin declined to comment on the specifics of the dispute. EchoStar would have to move the channel from its top package to a lower-cost package that may have fewer channels but more viewers. That would raise the fees Dish Network viewers pay. "We work hard to provide choice for customers and to keep prices low," Eric Sahl, an EchoStar senior vice president, said in a statement. "Most of our customers have made the decision they do not want to pay the additional cost of watching the channel." EchoStar hasn't been afraid to take on networks before. In March 2004, it pulled Viacom Inc. programming — including MTV, the Comedy Channel and Nickelodeon — from the Dish Network for two days until an agreement was struck on a long-term contract. Based in suburban Englewood, EchoStar's Dish Network has about 11.4 million customers. ___ On the Net: EchoStar Communications Corp.: www.echostar.comOutdoor Life Network: www.olntv.com

My dad still hasn't gotten OLN yet. Charile or tennesseerustler: what do yall use? My friend's dad who works for charter said that they don't have it on charter digital cable. OLN should just be one of the basic channels...take E off cuase that's a borin channel.

I have directv and have for 10 years. I would never go back to anything but satelite. We have Media-Com for our cable provider and they do not have oln. That never mattered to me but i am glad i do not have to rely on them now.
Have you DISH NETWORK people ever got tired from having to pay 5.00 everytime you call. The constant hidden charges it is ridiculous my friend has it and it is terrible.
As far as the local channel thing, Most cable providers will allow you to get just the, what i call 2-13 package. That way you can have the local channels and also have the best tv available. To be blunt all you really have to do is to put an antenna on the top of your house that way you can the strongest lc available so either way what ever you do get Directv.
As far as your E channel thing there are probably about 25 million people that will disagree with you. Gossip sells. Quick question when you go to the grocery store and you check out how many gossip magazines do you see?

Well, I did it - I ordered DirecTV just a little bit ago. I wasn't going to take a chance whether DishNetwork would get OLN back on for their subscribers, or maybe they wouldn't. Now I just really hope that the same thing doesn't happen with DirecTV!
I have to say that we were pretty pleased with the 8 years we've had DishNetwork. Very rarely did we lose reception to weather, and never had any other problems. Honestly, though - comparing what I'm getting with DirecTV and what I had with DishNetwork, I would say that I am coming out the winner. With DishNetwork, we only had ONE receiver (unless we wanted to pay extra for more) and we didn't have local channels (again, unless we wanted to pay an extra $5/mo). Now we will have more receivers and local channels, and we're still going to be paying almost exactly what we were paying with DishNetwork. The only thing we did lose by going with DirecTV is the Outdoor Channel, which carried the CBR. Oh, well - guess I'll have to live with that.
Interesting thing while I was on the phone ordering the DirecTV: I ask the guy if he's had alot of other people were ordering DirecTV because of DishNetwork dropping OLN, and he said that almost half of his orders today were for that very reason! DishNetwork apparently has made a big mistake on this one...........
The installation guy is to be here Wednesday. I'm so relieved that we'll be able to see the Finals!!!!

Well besides not being able to get local channels, we wouldnt be able to get Outdoor either and it shows the other pro bullriding. I cannot get cable because I live outside of town and Im not sure if we even have cable in this town anymore. It is $2.50 per network to get the networks. Ah what a dilema!!!

You can order outdoor channel for 10:00 extra per month which will give you 21 more chanels. We have all the channels and it only cost like 81.99 and then with the tivo and the 4 receivers we have it is a total of 112.00. that isnt bad with kids it is a life saver and with a wife it allows her to watch movies and of course i have all the sports packages so it benefits all. Having kids makes tv a wise investment.
The outdoor channel is on 606 and oln on 608. i dont know who told you guys they dont offer the outdoor channel.
