sorry for the double post......
Why have they done this to us right before the finals?!?!?!? PLEASE EMAIL THE PBR AND DISH NETWORK TELL THEM YOU WANT OLN BACK!!!!!
"OLN is not longer avalable. OLN is owned and operated by the nation's largest cable TV company, COMCAST, has made unreasonalbe demands that would force millions of DISH network customers to pay more for this channel. We gregret the inconvenience but are committed to keeping your prices the lowest possible." I have called DISH network..they say that they are working on it...and have put in a special request for me to get OLN back.

OLN Statement Regarding DISH Network
We were surprised and disappointed that DISH unilaterally chose to stop providing OLN to its customers without warning, and denied fans access great sports coverage. Fortunately, those customers do have the ability to explore other cable and satellite options that carry OLN.

What a boatload of CRAP!!! I am FURIOUS that Dish Network did this to us - without warning, without giving us, as customers, the OPTION TO PAY MORE if we so choose to, if we want to see the Finals.
After reading the above posts, I immediately called Dish Network and proceeded to work my way up the ladder of peons and idiots to the person in the highest position that would talk to me about this issue. The last person I spoke with promised that the network executives are "trying to resolve this issue with the utmost expediency". I pointed out to them that next week are the PBR FINALS, for hell's sake, and that as PBR fans, we watch the entire YEAR and look forward in great anticipation to the next 2 weeks. I explained to them that this is like being a football fan and getting to watch all the games all season, only to have to HEAR about how the SuperBowl played out via webpages and newspapers. I let them know that the ONLY reason I subscribe to Dish Network is entirely because of them carrying OLN, and that if they don't get this issue resolved, I will be cancelling my subscription.
Everyone who is affected by this crock of crap NEEDS TO CONTACT Dish Network and voice your outrage, and let them know just how imperitive it is that they get this issue resolved before next weekend, and let them know that if they don't succeed in doing so, that your only recourse is to cancelled your subscription to Dish Network. Gotta get them in the pocketbook since that is the ONLY thing that corporations care about.
Holly, what company do you guys get OLN with? I guess I had better start checking into other alternatives and HOPE & PRAY that I can get it installed before next weekend...........

I am currently looking at DirecTV. I have emailed them to make sure they are not dropping OLN also. Have to waite and see on that one. I will be switching back to them monday or tuesday if it is not resolved by then. Only have DISH because they had RFDTV...which of course direct got 2 weeks after we switched.

Wow i'm sure happy i have Direct TV.... if you have dish i would suggest changing to comacst of Direct TV. Yea and Direct TV has RFDTV so i think direct tv is better but comcast is good too because u can watch the finals over and over again on on-demand but on comcast u don't get RFDTV or GAC or CMT unless u pay much more that's y we switched to direct tv and it was cheaper then comcast.

twinpinesmt - Thanks for letting all of us know that this was going on with dishnetwork. I don't normally watch OLN except for the bullriding, so I wasn't even aware that they did this. I truly hope they can get this issue resolved before next friday. I'll be calling them monday to see if they think they can, and if not, I'll be getting Directv installed IMMEDIATELY! Heck, Directv's subcriber rate is less than DishNetwork's anyhow - might make sense to switch to them even if Dish Network gets this issue resolved!
Oh, I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO mad right now, I just want to rip someone's head off and shove it up their, um, BUM!!!

well, i have directTV and just looked to see if OLN is still on and it is. I have never had a problem with DirectTV and I love it, well, also because I have the DVR too which means I record all my shows. I just set bull riding as a season pass and it records all episodes so I can watch it when it's convenient. I also don't have to watch commercials... get to fast forward through them. I can pause, rewind, replay everything including live TV. DVR's could quite possibly be the best invention EVER!!!

The PBR has issued a press release on the topic. Here is the link: www.pbrnow.com/media/press/release.cfm?ID=1717In it they are recommending Direct TV as the alternative so it sounds like they have a solid agreement with them. Luckily the person that tapes the shows for me has Direct TV.

Well this just stinks!!!! I was lying in bed w/ a tummy ache and decided to log on and surf the net on my laptop. My homepage is set to the pbr site and there it is in black and white a WEEK before the finals!
I went to OLN on the Dish and it is already gone. Surely there will be lawsuits over this?
My hubby pre-pays in full for a year subscription. In this household we need a few basic channels we can't live w/ out; local channels, the weather channel, all the disneys and freaking OLN!!!!!
I am sicker now than before. My hubby just got off of the tractor from working ground all day and the poor thing is listening to me harass him to call dish network NOW!
I think their damage is already done, DISH NETWORK has lost a lot already. How could we ever trust them again even if they worked it out w/ Comcast?
This is just a bunch of (pardon the pun) BULLLL!!!!!!!!!!!
I always have room in my life for some more unnecessary stress! NOT!
I will have something to watch OLN on by next weekend! In my area only walmart sells directv. I will be calling them tomorrow or my hubby will.
Hey guys we gotta stick together, I'm sure it won't be resolved before the finals but I'll be long gone from DISH.
( I am being very polite w/ my language) I am just as outraged as the rest of you!
When my hubby gets out of shower he will be on hold w/ Dish, geez louise! (you can almost see my eyeballs poppinig out of my head I'm sure, I know Cody & Holly can!) I bet they're glad they don't have upcoming dental appts! (everyone else will listen to this all freaking week long in my chair!)
THIS IS A BUNCH OF BULL THAT WE GOT DISH-ED!!!!
Jules (a very pissed off PBR fan!)
